CDAO Accomplishment Report for May 2009

The Community Development Assistance Office whose main function is to strengthen a smooth collaboration, coordination and resource complementation among its stakeholders worked effectively towards a smooth delivery of services to the different target clientele groups within our municipality of Imus, Cavite, continuously implement its program and services in various depressed barangays of the municipality.

For the month of May, activities involved consultation meetings with key leaders in the Barangay and agencies concerned regarding activity plan and resource complementation. The discussion focused on community-based projects, based on their identified and perceived needs. The meetings resulted to a unanimous need for income-generating project or livelihood projects.

In response to the felt needs of the community, the following activities/projects were implemented in collaboration and coordination with the different concerned government agencies and non-government organization.
Livelihood trainings and seminar were conducted on various barangays benefiting unskilled women and mothers. Residents of the Barangay flocked to the venue to witness the actual demo on dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioner making. A Livelihood Skills Training on Integrated Food processing – tocino, skinless longganisa, siomai were conducted in depressed communities in Barangay Espeleta and Pag-asa 2 with our unskilled women members and family heads as our participants. Livelihood training on dishwashing liquid, fabric conditioner and toilet bowl cleaner was also conducted at Bgry. Alapan 1-C. Launching of TESDA Scholars were also held at SB Session Hall. Ms. Lani Mercado-Revilla highlighted the event.
Mass Feeding was conducted among disadvantaged children ages 2-8 years old to provide nutritious food, and make parents aware on how to keep their children healthy and prevent malnutrition. The following barangays served were Espeleta 2, Anabu 2F, Buhay na Tubig, Alapan 2a & 2B, Medicion 1C, Medicion 1D, Bucandala 3, Bayan Luma 1 and Pasong Buaya 2 Villa Verde.
In cooperation with the Pag-asa Youth Association and Barangay officials from cluster 1-9, an Operation Linis/Cleanliness Drive were regularly conducted every Saturday from 6am – 9am in Cluster 1 – 9. Implementation of the waste management process is strictly observed. Reorganizing an reactivation of organization members were also conducted at Malagasang 2F, Anabu 2F and Bucandala 2.
Counseling services is also conducted on a one on one basis with clients who come to the office for assistance to restore their social functioning and further case management. Psycho-social interventions were also provided to all clients with psycho-impairment. A total of 222 clients were served from various depressed communities.

Regular Staff Development Meeting were held once a week for the feed backing of accomplishments, supervision, provision of technical assistance and ensure a smooth positive working relationship among the staff.

Consultation meeting with the Municipal Mayor was held to provide direction and technical support for the smooth delivery and implementation of projects and activities.
