March is known as the National Women’s Month. This year’s theme is “BABAE YAMAN KA NG BAYAN”. In celebration of the Women’s Month, our CDAO Office spearheaded the various activities conducted in cooperation with the MSWDO and Office of Councilor Mary Jemeny Yulo Guinto.The search for Empowered Women was launched on the first week of the Month where the candidates for the search coming from various barangays of this municipality were introduced. Venue for the said launching was held at Imus covered court, Imus, Cavite.
Prizes for the winners for the search for Empowered Women will be awarded on March 30, 2009 at Imus Plaza.Seminars on Parent Effectiveness Service, Responsible Parenthood , The Role of Women in Development and Violence Against Women was conducted in barangays Alapan 2B, Poblacion 1A and Medicion 2B with maximum participation of the Women sector. Objective of the seminar is to provide the participants with additional knowledge and awareness on issues affecting the women’s welfare and awareness on their role towards family and community development. Gender and Development Seminar workshop was also conducted among barangay officials and community leaders held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall in Imus, Cavite.
Values and Spiritual Formations were likewise regularly conducted every Friday at eight (8) in the morning in cooperation and partnership with the Emmanuel Church Ministry International (ECMI) and the Office of Councilor Mary Jemeny Yulo Guinto. Guests from other religious groups were invited to give a talk on Moral Issues that effects our women and the Moral teachings of our Catholic Faith in the practice of contraceptives or Artificial methods in controlling births as well as facilitating the fellowship.
In coordination with the Imus Vocational Technical School (IVTS) , a Livelihood Skills Training on Integrated Food Processing – Tocino, Skinless Longganisa, Spicy Dilis, Chocolate , Siomai and Hamburger Patties were conducted in the Five depressed communities in barangay Buhay na Tubig, Medicion 2B, Poblacion 1A, Tanzang Luma 2 and Alapan 2B, with our unskilled women members and family heads as our participants.Livelihood Skills Training on Non-Food Production- Dishwashing Liquid, Fabric Conditioner and Detergent Powder was conducted in barangays Pag-asa 3 Bicol Region, Pasong Buaya 2, Anabu 1A, and Malagasang 1C with maximum participation of unskilled women/ mothers. Objective of the training is to provide additional skills to the unskilled participants and provide limited capital assistance to start with their income generating projects thus, ultimately uplift their economic condition from poverty to sufficiency level.
Mass Feeding project was conducted in Barangays Poblacion 2A , Anabu 2A, , Pasong Buaya 2 in Kapatiran Village and Citihomes and Malagasang 1G. A total of 1,109 disadvantaged children were served. Partners NGO,s/PO,s helped assist in this feeding project.In cooperation with the Pag-Asa Youth Association (PYA) and barangay officials, Operation Linis/Cleanliness Drive were regularly conducted on Saturdays from 6am to 10am in Clusters 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7.
Implementation of the waste management process is strictly observed.Aero Taebo or Women’s Fitness among our young and old women members from cluster 6 was held in cooperation with the Office of Councilor Mary Jemeny Yulo Guinto and MSWDO. Venue for this project was held in barangay Magdalo covered court. Barangay council members headed by their barangay captain gave their full support for the success of the activity. Part of the women’s fitness is a Basketball exhibition for women “Team Pink and Team Violet”.
Team Violet won in this exhibition game on March 19, the undersigned lead and supervised the various “larong Pinoy”Played by our selected members of our various People’s Organization ( KKK, AUIC, AGM, PLP, PYA, MHM and ASFI). Native Filipino games that were played were as follows:· Tamaang Tao “Dodge Ball”· Wheel Relay· Shooting StarsIn response to the health concerns of our indigent individuals and families inMalagasang 1G, a Medical, Dental and Optical Mission were conducted in barangay Malagasang 1G in cooperation with the MHO, CCOPs and Kiwanis Pearl Club.
Coordination meetings with NGO’s/PO’s , and GA’s were held for project partnership and resources tapping.Consultation meetings with the Municipal Mayor and Council members were alsoheld to ensure smooth implementation and excellent delivery of the unit office program/ andservices. Psychosocial interventions were also provided to clients who come to the office for assistance to restore their social functioning.
Case Managements were also conducted to client’s in crisis situation on a one on one basis. Consultation meetings with the co-Social Workers at MSWDO were also conducted to ensure effective and efficient delivery of social services provided to persons/clients with special needs and its beneficiaries and the smooth implementation and delivery of the MSWD programs and services.
Regular staff meetings were conducted once a week or every Friday facilitated by the undersigned for feedbacking of accomplishments, evaluation and assessment of project implementation and work performance and provide the community development workers direction for excellent service delivery.Attended to sit in conferences/ meetings and seminars within and outside the municipality for self enhancement of knowledge and skills.
