CDAO Staff and Volunteers Attend the 2009 Advent Recollection

The CDAO Staff and Volunteers attended the 2009 Advent Recollection organized by PYAP Imus Chapter Advisers for the officers and members of PYAP Imus Chapter with a theme "Experiencing the Presence of God" on December 5, 2009 at SB Hall, Imus Municipal Hall, Imus, Cavite.

The recollection was facilitated by Bro. Bal Ronato and Mr. Juriel Fabito, PYAP Advisers.
The first part of the recollection focused on self-knowledge using the "Johari Window" as a tool. The Johari Window is a model for self-awareness, Personal development, Group development and Understanding relationship.

Johari Window: Model

􀂄 Also referred to as a 'disclosure/feedbackmodel of self awareness', and an'information processing tool‘
􀂄 Represents information - feelings,experience, views, attitudes, skills,intentions, motivation, etc - within or about aperson - in relation to their team, from four Perspectives
􀂄 Can also be used to represent the sameinformation for a team in relation to otherteams

The Four Johari Window Perspectives
􀂄Called 'regions' or 'areas' or 'quadrants'.
􀂄Each contains and represents the information - feelings, motivation, etc – in terms of whether the information is known or unknown by the person, and whether the information is known or unknown by others in the team
􀂄The four regions, areas, quadrants, or perspectives are as follows, showing the quadrant numbers and commonly used names

Johari window four regions

1. Open area, open self, free area, free self, or 'thearena‘: what is known by the person about him/herself and is also known by others
2. Blind area, blind self, or 'blindspot‘: what is unknown by the person about him/herself but which others know
3. Hidden area, hidden self, avoided area, avoided self or 'façade’: what the person knows about him/herself that others do not know
4. Unknown area or unknown self: what is unknown by the person about him/herself and is also unknown by others.

Bro. Bal Ronato, O.Carm discussed "Experiencing God in my Relationship with Others" on the second half of the recollection. He used Psalm 139 to describe God's infinite love and care.
Psalm 139

"O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Where can I gofrom Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence? Even there Your handwill lead me,
And Your right handwill lay hold of me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness willoverwhelm me,
And the light around mewill be night,” Even the darknessis not dark to You,
And the nightis as bright as the day.
Darkness and lightare alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well. "
The event was also graced by Cavite Board Member Jun Del Rosario and Imus Community Development Assistance Office (CDAO) head Ms. Tina H. Viegan, RSW.
