SCAW Gift-giving













The Canadian-based organization "Sleeping Children Around the World" (SCAW) led by its Canadian Team Leader Mr. Ken Graham and Philippine Team Leader Dr. Ito Torres in partnership with CDAO distributed bedkits to indigent kids of Imus. Each bedkit consists of a mat or matress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net, clothes outfit, towel and school supplies.
The event was held on April 17, 2009 at Imus Covered Court. Hundreds of kids from various barangays in Imus received the gifts from the SCAW Team assisted by CDAO and other Imus Local Government Officials led by Vice-Mayor Mandy Ilano.
SCAW is a registered Canadian Charitable Institution and based in Toronto, Canada. Its main Dream is "A world in which every child benefits from the comfort of a good night's sleep." Its mission is "Through free-will donations and in partnership with our volunters, we give bedkits to needy children in developing countries, thus helping them to face the challenges of the coming day."
Murray and Margaret Dryden founded SCAW in 1970, since then, it has raised over $20 million to provide bedkits for over 900,000 children in 33 countries around the world. This year, SCAW aims to reach its millionth child.

CDAO 2009 Summer Teambuilding








The CDAO Team led by Ms Cristina H. Viegan, RSW trooped to Jardin de Dasmarinas Resort and Restaurant in Sabang, Dasmarinas on April 18, 2009 for a day of teambuilding, fun and games. The summer event was participated by member-NGOs and POs, volunteers and community leaders.

CDAO Team Helps Maintain Peace and Order During the Holy Week




The CDAO Team helped maintain peace and order in the municipality during the holy week activities specifically in the Imus Cathedral area.

CDAO Spiritual Formation



The CDAO Spiritual Formation is a weekly activity held at CDAO which aims to integrate spirituality to social service.

2009 Easter Sunday

Catholics in Imus joined all Christians around the world in celebrating Jesus' resurrection in this year's Easter Sunday.

An Easter Vigil Mass at Imus Cathedral was officiated by Bishop Chito Tagle at 7PM of Black Saturday. At 4AM of Easter Sunday, a "salubong" procession was held participated in separated assembly venue of Catholic Males and Females. The image of the Risen Christ was with the Males while the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary was with the Females.

2009 Good Friday in Imus





Catholics in Imus, Cavite paused for a day on Good Friday to commemmorate Christ's death onn the cross.

At 12:00 noon, the "7 last words" service was led by the Catholic Youth of Imus. At 3 PM was the Good Friday service and veneration of the cross. At 7PM, the grand procession was held attended by hundreds of Imusenos.

2009 Palm Sunday







CDAO participated in commemmorating Christ's entry to Jerusalem with palms, which is known in Catholic Tradition as Palm Sunday.

The CDAO Team joins all Christians around the world in preparing for the Holy Week remembering the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Mass Feeding in Barcelona Riverside, Buhay na Tubig















On April 14, 2009, the CDAO Team spearheaded a mass feeding in Barcelona Riverside, Brgy. Buhay na Tubig. More than a hundred undernourished children benefited from this feeding program of CDAO in areas with high incidence of undernourishment.

Cristalle Belo Henares and the Kids of Imus

















Ms Cristalle Belo Henares, daughter of Ms. Vicky Belo and Mr. Atom Henares celebrated her birthday with the kids of Imus at Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife in Quezon City. A total of 110 kids trooped to the venue accompanied by CDAO Head, Ms. Cristina Viegan, RSW and her Team, and Mr and Mrs Billy Guinto and kids.

The kids wore color coded easter bunny costume and posed with easter bunny mascot and with Ms Kristal. Friends and school classmates of Ms Kristal facilitated the parlor games for the kids.

The Imuseno kids enjoyed the food, games, prizes and gifts, as well as the hospitality and kindness of Ms Kristal, her friends and family.

CDAO Staff Development







The CDAO Team Development is a weekly activity which aims to empower the CDAO Team Members through active participation in project planning, implementation and evaluation as well as personality and skills development.

Meeting with PYA Officers




The CDAO Youth Organizers Team met the PYA Officers of Imus to discuss the CDAO projects for the youth of Imus. The meeting is regularly held in the barangays within the municipality where there are active members and officers of PYA.

Community Assembly in Sitio Pulo, Anabu 2C





The CDAO Team in partnership with the Office of the Mayor, Municipal Engineering Office and other Imus Local Departments/Agencies, facilitated the Community Assembly in Sitio Pulo, Anabu 2C to update the residents in the housing project for their community on April 5, 2009. The event was also a avenue for all the families to raise their questions and concerns about the project.

The housing project was made possible through the initiative of the local government
of Imus led by Hon. Manny Maliksi, Municipal Mayor and his municipal council through CDAO.

Awarding of Sports Materials to PYA Officers







The CDAO Youth Organizer's Team awarded sports materials to PYA Officers on April 16, 2009 at CDAO Office. The Sports Materials include basketball, volleyball, chess boards, scrabble sets, etc. The awarding is done to support the PYA's sportsfest event this April to May 2009 in time for the summer vacation.

Screening of Children-Beneficiaries for SCAW Gift-Giving











The CDAO Team led my Ms. Cristina H. Viegan, RSW faciliated the screening of children-beneficiaries for this year's gift-giving of Canadian-based NGO Sleeping Children Around the World. The Team visited various barangays within the municipality to perfrom such task. Hundreds of indigent children of Imus will benefit from this annual event which will be held this year on April 17, 2009 at Imus Covered Court, Imus, Cavite.
