March 2008 Accomplishment Report

This March, we focus on relating INTEGRITY in the nature of our social service endeavors . As one of our core values, we relate integrity to our daily activity as a must “to provide basic needs to the people though a systematic and effective access and delivery system.”

As a young organization, we start with the basics. Leaders need more integrity. Ms. Cristina H. Viegan, RSW, our Unit Head teaches us how to be community leaders with integrity. She reiterates that people’s trust is widely recognized as critical component for high performance organizations. And that in our local government’s organizational culture, community leaders should find themselves as institutional advocates; they influence how people perceive our organizational values.

Our activities for the whole month of March gave us many opportunities to prove our integrity as community builders, and the same time facing different challenges in building trust within our team. These opportunities and challenges brought us to a realization that a “team trust” builds cohesiveness and creates synergism among team members.

Therefore:

”Wealth in the new regime flows directly from innovation, not optimization; that is, wealth is not gained by perfecting the known, but by imperfectly seizing the unknown.” Kevin Kelly

This quotation from Kevin Kelly defines how NGO’s-PO’s Network Unit of Imus, Cavite strive to build an integrity in social services. Through different programs initiated by the Network Unit, we are now receiving positive feedbacks from the people of Imus.

We are then more committed to continuously be model of good values in public service because we believe that that our organization values supply the basic convictions that provide a framework for our organizational conduct. We further commit that our words will always be in congruent with our actions, because people are closely watching our actions as public servants to determine if they align with our words.

WE, AT NGO’s-PO’s NETWORK UNIT THEREFORE PLEDGE THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO STRIVE IN FOSTERING HIGH INTEGRITY IN PUBLIC SERVICE.

This month, the first Batch of Gawad Kalinga Housing Beneficiaries started their values and spiritual formation . This is a basic requirement that aims to build a community centered on Christian values. Moreover more collaborations with the private sectors like Mercury Drug Corporation in bringing medical services to selected barangays in the Municipality.

Therefore:

Creating and maintaining partnerships with the private sectors in providing services to the people of Imus, especially to the less-privileged individuals and indigent families bring more opportunities in pooling resources thus helping the local government in allocating government funds to the most urgent needs of the Municipality.
